The Next Picture Show | Exhibition Application Step Three

The Application, The Jury Fee, The Image Files

Eligibility Work entered for all shows must be original. Work exhibited within the last two years at TNPS will not be considered.

Jury Fee A non-refundable jury fee is required for each show, $35 for TNPS members, $50 for non-members. Each entry fee allows you to submit up to four entries per show. If paying by mail, make checks payable to The Next Picture Show.

Submissions Images of work may be submitted in slide format, digital format or quality 4x6 prints. All images must be labeled clearly in whatever format you choose to send. No matter how wonderful the work, if the image submitted is of poor quality, the piece will be rejected.

Jurying Only entries postmarked by indicated deadlines will be considered. All slides, CDs and pictures will be retained by TNPS until exhibition end.

Publicity TNPS reserves the right to photograph all exhibited work for publicity purposes.

Framing Accepted 2D work must be framed and/or equipped with proper hanging devices. NO SAWTOOTH HOOKS. If work comes with improper hanging hardware, the work will not be hung. All other work (3D) must be ready to install. TNPS reserves the right to install accepted works in a manner deemed necessary for exhibit or security reasons.

Insurance and Liability Artists are responsible for insuring their work in transit to and from TNPS. TNPS provides minimal insurance to work while on TNPS premises.

Shipping and Receiving Artists are responsible for shipping costs to and from the exhibit. All accepted work shipped must be received with return shipping costs and label. Works may be hand delivered. Drop off dates and times will be provided to the artist upon acceptance notification.

Acceptance and Exhibiting Artists accepted to show will receive information pertinent to their show; drop off, pick up dates and times, opening dates, etc. Only ACCEPTED work is allowed for exhibition. No substitutions. All work is to remain on ehibit for the duration of the show. Curators reserve the right to refuse any work damaged or deemed too fragile for exhibition.

Donations TNPS is a non-profit organization and as such, does not take any commission on work sold at the gallery. Donations are allowed. If any artist volunteers to donate a small percentage (15-30%) of any work sold during their show, it would be very much appreciated.

Step 3 - Image File Submission

Please prepare your submissions as JPEGS at 72dpi, with the longest dimension being between 600 and 1000 pixels. Image file names should be in the following format, artistlastname_titleofpiece.jpg. If the title is very long, it is only necessary to include enough of it so that we can identify the piece easily.

Email your image files to and be sure to include the name of the juried show and the artist's name in the subject line of the email.

Images may also be submitted by mail on CDs, as slides or 4x6 prints. If submitting images on CDs, please use the guidelines for digital files set out above.

Once you have submitted all of your application materials, we recommend that you confirm with us that we have received your submission in whole.
